Background & Experience

Mae Ann Lim is a compassionate and committed Occupational therapy assistant with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Velez College, Cebu, Philippines. After exploring various paths, Mae Ann found her way back to the field of Occupational therapy—driven by a deep realization: her heart truly belongs here. During her time working in an Early Intervention Program (EIP) school, she discovered her passion for working with children. Her calm and nurturing presence stood out, and children naturally seemed to feel at ease around her.

Mae Ann’s background includes working in Early Intervention Programs, Inclusive Special Education (SPED)/International School and settings with children of various ages and developmental needs. She has hands-on experiences with one-on-one therapy sessions, conducting group intervention, and collaborating with families and other professionals. Her work experiences include supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delays and Sensory Processing Difficulties.

Approach

Through her daily interactions, Mae Ann has developed practical skills in behavior management and in building strong, trusting relationships with children. She adapts her approach to meet each child’s unique needs, fostering an environment where they feel safe, understood, and motivated to grow. Mae Ann is committed to furthering her expertise through professional development, including participating in training courses, preparing for relevant certifications and reviews and staying updated with best practices in pediatric therapy. Her goal is to continually expand her knowledge and enhance the quality of care she provides to the children and families she works with.

Mae Ann believes that every child has potential waiting to be unlocked.  She values patience, empathy and the the power of building trust.  Her approach is guided by the belief that children thrive when they are surronded by people who genuinely believe in them.  Mae Ann is committed to providing child-centred therapy that effectively supports the development of each child she works with.

Personal

Outside of work, Mae Ann enjoys traveling, exploring new cuisines, and spending quality time with her family and friends. These moments of joy and connection help her recharge and bring fresh inspiration to her work with children.
