Background & Experience

Mabel lived for 10 years in Adelaide, Australia, before moving back to Singapore to launch her career as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist. She is registered with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and has over 6 years of clinical experience. Mabel has practiced in a wide variety of settings, ranging from Early Intervention Centres, Mainstream Preschools. Paediatric Intensive Therapy Centres, aged care facilities and mental health settings (private clinic, acute hospital, community groups).

Approach

Mabel’s experience working as a Key Worker has helped shape her to be a strong advocate for inclusion.  She is also a firm believer in coaching and empowering families and teachers to carry out intervention strategies at home and at school.  This is so the intervention continues to be carried out in the child’s natural environment, maximising the gains that the child has made during their therapy.

Having briefly worked in a Paediatric Intensive Therapy Centre, Mabel has experience in providing individualised intensive treatment to kids with neurological/physical needs to reach their fullest potential.

Mabel is skilled in providing one to one treatment, group treatments and centre and school based intervention to children and adolescents.  She is experienced in working with a wide range of conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorders, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Genetic Disorders, Muscular Dystrophy as well as children with learning difficulties.  Outside of work, Mabel enjoys rock climbing and finds joy in exploring new places for food and wine.
