Background & Experience
Freda is a registered psychologist with 15 years of experience working in a multi-disciplinary center and a pediatric hospital. She is a neurodiversity-affirming therapist who strongly believes in helping children work towards self-advocacy. Having attended and worked with both local and international schools, Freda is familiar with various educational approaches.
Freda specialises in the assessment and management of neuro-developmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Her professional areas of interest are learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia), internalizing issues (e.g., anxiety), and social-emotional intervention.
Approach
Freda draws on a number of evidence-based approaches using a warm, gentle, and validating style. She strives to meet each child and family where they are, with a focus on understanding the child’s internal narrative. She also appreciates that community collaboration is key to positive outcomes. Therefore, she aims to foster an inclusive environment in her sessions, where she works together with the child, caregivers, and other professionals to support the child.
Personal
Outside of work Freda enjoys reading, cooking, travelling and hunting for spicy food! She adores bonding time with her little one and her furry little one.
